We are all squirrels, after all - there are likely to be similarities!
I was/am the consummate baby carrier, and you're right: they are so much happier if someone is carrying them. I think Sprout is such a good talker, too, because I carried him in a front-facing strap-on baby carrier for most of my maternity leave. He could watch/listen to me interact with friends, retail workers, bus drivers, restaurant servers, etc, all from the front of my chest. I always feel sad for the (I assume) bored little babies in strollers with a curtain of toys across the front, so they can't see anything.
